Young people can hugely benefit from a Fork Lift Truck licence to increase their chances of getting a job in the West Berkshire area. WBTC offer Fork Lift Truck training to all learners as part of their employability learning programmes, and Richard, Adam and Jack have been completing their training this week.

“I heard about WBTC from friends of mine who had already attended,” Jack tells us. “They told me I could do qualifications here, such as Functional Skills in English and Maths and a First Aid certificate, which will look really good on my CV.”

Our second candidate Adam is also completing an IT course as part of his employability learning programme. “The tutors at WBTC are wicked! I am learning a lot here – as well as the Fork Lift Truck and IT training, WBTC have also set up a work experience placement for me at Mazda. I am hoping this will lead to good job prospects.”

Finally, Richard has always worked in retail. “I am hoping this will lead to better job opportunities and a more rewarding career, in warehousing or construction.”

The Fork Lift training will ensure that they can operate a machine without any supervision, and all of our learners showed very impressive skills in manoeuvring their vehicles through a specially constructed course. Well done to Richard, Jack and Adam!
