Apprenticeship Commitment

What is expected of me as a Learner or as a Manager?

LEARNER

  • Delivery 12 months and one day (9.30am – 4.30pm)
  • One day induction (depending on numbers can be delivered on site or at WBTC)
  • 1st visit on site from dedicated training consultant within first month (1.5 hrs)
  • Work completed on Ecordia (approximately 3 – 4hrs a month)
  • Dedicated Training Consultant
  • Ongoing communication depending on requirements, observations, witness statements, written work, discussions
  • Learner Progress reviews carried out
  • Functional skill tests – Maths, English and ICT (unless certificates provided for exemption) up to 2hrs per test
  • 12 half day training sessions 9.30 – 12.30 for three tested units of the NVQ (not mandatory – highly recommended)
  • Functional skills training sessions support provided if required
  • Enrichment programmes/workshops and courses included in the price (not mandatory)
  • Activities – ie Canoeing the River Thames, Cowes Small Ship Race (not mandatory)
  • Apprentice Graduation Awards (limited spaces)
  • Account Management
  • Full Information Advice and Guidance (IAG)

MANAGER

  • To be available for quarterly reviews/updates
  • Picking of the units on the first visit, if required
  • To be able to support throughout the qualification
  • Allowing time to do the qualification, visits, test days

COMMITMENT

  • Potentially looking at between one and half hours – three hours a week to do the qualification
