A SUMMER OF ADVENTURE - The 2013 Summer Programme at WBTC

After the success of our 2012 Summer Programme which climaxed with 3 days at the 2012 Paralympic Games, West Berkshire Training Consortium is now enrolling for 2013.

The 2013 Summer of Adventure

This is a 10 week programme of activities designed to help 16-18 year olds either

  1. Go into a good quality Apprenticeship
  2. Prepare for further learning

It starts in July 2013 and is aimed at

  • Year 11 leavers who want to keep engaged and busy during the school holidays
  • Year 12 leavers who want to progress into further learning or work
  • Year 13 leavers who want to go into an Apprenticeship
  • Anyone aged 16-18 who is having difficulty finding work

In 2012, 60 young people enrolled onto our Summer Programme and all of them either went into an Apprenticeship, a job with training or further study. It was a tremendous success and case studies from the programme can be found here https://www.facebook.com/WBTCNewbury

The 2013 Summer of Adventure includes

  • Internship with a local employer
  • £10 weekly allowance
  • Travel expenses
  • Business Clothing Allowance

At the end of the programme we will sponsor all learners to choose to do either

  • Residential adventure course
  • 5 day forklift truck license
