Congratulations to BGM Plumbing who have been awarded the West Berkshire Training Consortium Certificate of Excellence for 2011. The certificate recognises employers who are committed to staff training and development and the Certificate of Excellence is the highest accolade that an employer can receive in the Investment in Training Awards.

Barry Eldred the owner of BGM Heating & Plumbing said “Last year I was awarded the Certificate of Commendation so I’m chuffed to be receiving this higher award a year later. I’m self employed and I run a small business that is local and well known. When I invest in an Apprentice I am putting in a huge effort and financial investment for the future and I am hoping that this pays off in the long term. This challenge is made all the easier by having West Berkshire Training Consortium as my friend helping me with funding and supporting me with advice. They take some of the burden off me by arranging the training and assessment and taking care of the paperwork. Plumbing is an established trade and completing an Apprenticeship takes many years. Partnership with WBTC is for the long term and they have supported me through thick and thin. They have even supported me in my own development as a manager.”

Rachel Eaves at WBTC said “I’m very pleased for Barry that he has received our highest award and it is well earned. Barry has worked hard at supporting the Apprenticeship movement and he is an excellent mentor himself. From all of us here at WBTC we wish he continued success.”
